Lament...
No photos for a lament :/
I realized that with The Burning Crusade our game has become more casual.
The new instances can be done when you have a a couple of hours of time (even less) and from Ramparts to Arcatraz you are able to find a pug to make it... but it's Karazhan the place where i "stop to run".
I'm in a guild that doesn't make Karazhan because most of the people have no wish to make it, they are devoted to pvp or simply because they're not attuned. And most of the reasons they find to justify the fact they don't want to make this raid are also my reasons:
- it takes a lot of time
- we have to be 10 with a specific party composition so you have to leave someone at home while you take always the tanks/healers
- you need a specific spec sometimes (or anyway you can't be a "wannabe" as you are in normal instances.. i mean i heal even if i'm shadow)
Now... let's face every problem.
I understand the third point but it's not a real problem. With the daily quest i get so much money i can respec everyday so for me it's not a problem to go to Ironforge, respec holy, full shadow or anything i need to make that raid well ^^. But it's me... i know a lot of poor people online (usually the pvp guys :/).
The second problem is tricky... not impossible but hard as well. Actually in a guild there are more than 2 tanks and 2 healers and so many dpsers so you should have the numbers to play but it is always so hard to find an hour when everyone will be ready. This one can play only in the afternoon, this one only at night, this one shares his account with his brother and you will never know who'll be online... they'd be pushed to go to kara but the first problem breaks their hopes...
The first problem is the hardest. Karazhan is the place where you divide casuals from wannabe-pros. If you come online and you have only 2 hours you won't have neither one chance to go there :/. You can make a pug for Shadow Labyrinth or a run to Mecha Heroic but you'll have to forget to see Moroes because it needs organization, it cannot be done in 2 hours and almost noone wants to go in a place knowing that 90% he won't be able to finish it.
Why all of this lament...? Nothing... just that i dream that when they'll design the new instances / raid I hope they'll consider the time factor as the most important one. An instance that needs more than 2 hours/2,5 hours to be completed will cut out a lot of people.
Above all me :)

I agree entirely and also wish for more 1-2 hour raids.

well i dont really agree on this as karazhan is end raid content and not some instance like mechanar or any of the other faction instances.
as with all end game raid instances u need time and dedication to go true the content pre bc every end game instance was either 20 man or more making it very difficult for some people or guilds to progress because the lacked the 20 man to be online at the same time.
with tbc blizzard already made a large step forward to make end raid content availible for 10 man but as like all mmorpg games u need more then 2 hours to go true it and imo thats rather good people who dont have the time to spend more then a few hours cant possibly expect to have seen everything this game has to offer as they simply dont play enough. looking at it the other way how fast would u think people will stop playing wow if every raid instance is limited to 2 hours of play and in those 2 hours u can see everything about the lore and the game itself. everyone makes choices some play a lot some play less. but as in all mmorpg games the one who play less will not get as far as the rest.
I just want to underline something you say ^^.
You say: "everyone makes choices some play a lot some play less".
That's not true in my opinion. People make choice but sometimes are choices that choose you :) If you are married, or you have another interested, if you like to play sport... or you just simply study you have no choices. You have to take care of the others things you do in your life (and not only for they are duties...)
I guess blizzard should manage this little gap. I don't know they have invented the heroic dungeons... try to make something as this for kara or the other big instances... ask the people to get a particular reputation to allow you go to there with a 5 men group and give you a buff to reduce the strength of them so that you'll be able to make the instance in 5 instead of 10... create more entrances (as in Scholomance?) so that you'll be able to choose to which part you'll be able to do this time... and which part next time.
The path blizzard has chosen with tbc is going in the right direction but not enough... i guess that everyone should be able to reach the end content of them time and the time issue would be not "if you don't play enough you won't reach it" but "if you don't play enough you will reach it 4 months after the others".
